What players say
Reviewers describe the Axis 98 as a comfortable, spin-friendly 16x20 frame that plays a step more dampened than Diadem's own Aero 98. Players who swing fast and generate their own pace get strong control and spin; a few note it can feel too powerful or hard to control on serve if you don't commit to a fast, aggressive swing.
Best for
- Advanced players with faster swing speeds
- Spin-focused baseliners
- Players sensitive to arm comfort
- Players switching from stiffer, harsher frames
Pros
- Comfortable, dampened feel credited to the Kraibon elastomer
- Strong topspin and slice generation from the 16x20 pattern
- Generous sweet spot for a 98 sq in frame
- Good stability/control for players with fast, aggressive swings
Cons
- Ball can fly long if the swing isn't fast enough to control the launch
- Muted feel won't suit players who want a raw, connected sensation
- One reviewer found it too powerful for a swing-freely playing style
- Serve performance was inconsistent for at least one reviewer compared to the Aero 98

The only area where I struggled with the Axis 98 was on serve for some reason. I got more help with the Aero 98.

For my game, which is generally best when I can hit freely without adjusting my swing, it was a little too powerful.

I hit with the racket for an hour and was hitting as well as ever. I am a 5.0 player... It is rare to pick up a racket and feel comfortable right off the bat.

This is the best raquet I've used! Control, feel, and spin! I highly recommend the Axis 98!

Awesome on the arm and great spin and this the best racquet for serving. It's amazing how good this racquet is. Very under rated.
