ProKennex Kinetic Pro 5G Classic Racket
Series: Ki
$129.00
The Kinetic Pro 5G Standard maintains the best control/maneuverability ratio in the ProKennex line. A head light balance and standard 27 inch length mix well with the 100 square inch head size. It all adds up to a player's racket with a little more power than most control categorized frames. Spin is easy to generate. Advanced players noted how easy it was to whip the racket head through the contact zone for some extra pace and spin. Mix in the solid feel of Kinetic Technology and you have the most popular Kinetic racket ProKennex has produced. A nice choice for 4.0 to 6.0 level all-court players with fast swing types or hard hitters with joint/elbow problems.

What players say
Coverage of the Pro 5G Classic is almost entirely owner reviews on Tennis Warehouse rather than press or YouTube playtests, but there are dozens of them spanning nearly two decades, and the pattern is consistent: players with tennis elbow, golfer's elbow, or shoulder pain report real relief and often credit this frame with keeping them on court. A smaller group finds it underpowered out of the box, prone to breaking at the throat/hoop, or simply not the fix they hoped for.
Best for
- Players managing tennis elbow, golfer's elbow, or shoulder pain
- Control-minded players who hit with long, full strokes
- Players moving down from a heavier, stiffer frame
- Owners willing to add lead tape or tune string tension for more pop
Pros
- Widely credited with resolving or easing tennis elbow, golfer's elbow, and shoulder pain for owners who'd tried other arm-friendly frames first
- Comfortable, connected, 'warm' feel many long-term owners prefer over newer ProKennex and other brand frames
- Good control and maneuverability for its weight; several reviewers call it more maneuverable than the Ki5 and more controlled than the 7G
- Many owners rebuy it after trying to move on to other racquets and getting arm pain again
Cons
- Stock power is low; multiple owners say it needs longer, faster strokes or added lead tape to generate pace
- Several long-time owners report frames cracking or breaking at the throat or hoop, sometimes with minimal impact
- Serve pace suffers for some owners compared to stiffer, more powerful frames
- Not a guaranteed fix: at least one owner said it did nothing for their tennis elbow
- Low trajectory took adjustment, with one owner reporting a stretch of shots netted after switching in

The 5G is SICK!!! It's a lot more maneuverable than the new KI5, a lot more control than the 7G

This is not only a comfortable racquet that prevents tennis elbow, but also an ultimate player's racquet!

This racquet is absolutely a life saver for those having issues with their elbow, joint or shoulder problems

You really need longer, faster strokes because this racket does not have a ton of power.

It is the best racquet I have ever used with one minor problem, IT IS VERY FRAGILE.
— Matt - TW customer review, Web
I was dumping shots I hit in my sleep in the middle of the net over and over.
