What players say
Reviewers consistently praise the V1 EVO for its comfort, feel, and easy depth on groundstrokes and volleys, calling it a worthy, more stable update to the classic V1. The main knock is that it isn't a big server's weapon, with the TW playtest team and some owners noting it takes more swing effort to generate serve power, though several customers found power and control well balanced for an all-court game.
Best for
- All-court and doubles players who value net feel
- Players with arm sensitivity wanting a comfortable, dampened frame
- Advanced beginners through advanced players who want forgiveness without excess stiffness
- Fans of the original V1 Classic wanting a more stable, modern update
Pros
- Comfort and vibration dampening stand out; multiple TW playtesters and owners call it one of the plusher-feeling frames in its class
- Easy, consistent depth on groundstrokes from all parts of the court with little to no adjustment period
- Solid volley response and stability at net, per the TW playtest team
- Several owners describe a good power/control balance, with one comparing it favorably to the Babolat Pure Drive but with a softer feel
Cons
- TW playtest team found it lacking serving power, needing more swing effort for first serves
- Tennisnerd's Jonas Eriksson noted the dampening in the handle can mute some feedback/connection to the ball
- The rectangular grip shape takes adjustment time for players used to even-sided grips like Wilson or Babolat
- Can feel less stable against harder, more aggressive hitters per the playtest team
