Testers found the extended-length VCORE 98+ 8th Gen easy to generate power and heavy spin with, especially on serves, and rated it above the standard-length VCORE 98 8th Gen for baseline pop. The tradeoffs reviewers kept flagging were reduced maneuverability from the higher swingweight and control that slips on off-center or flatter contact, so it's aimed at players who already swing an extended frame or want extra reach.
Best for
- Advanced baseliners wanting extra reach
- Players who hit heavy topspin
- Servers wanting easier pace and spin
- Players upgrading from a standard VCORE 98
Pros
- Easy power and depth on groundstrokes without extra effort
- Strong spin production, especially praised on serves
- Stable and comfortable at net despite the extra length
- Plush, comfortable feel on center-hit balls
Cons
- Higher swingweight (335) makes it noticeably harder to swing, especially on returns
- Control drops off on flatter shots and off-center contact
- Not forgiving off-center; one customer reported wrist pain as a one-handed backhand player
- Some testers wanted a denser string pattern or added handle weight for better connection
