What players say
Reviewers agree the Ultra 100 v5 is an easy-power, forgiving frame with a plush, dampened feel that's noticeably softer than the v4, and control was better than expected for a power frame. The main knock is firmness that some testers still felt in the wrist and elbow, plus a couple of playtesters found spin harder to generate than expected and grommets that let strings move and lose tension faster.
Best for
- Intermediate club players
- Aggressive baseliners wanting easy depth
- Flat-to-moderate spin hitters
- Players returning from a break
Pros
- Easy, repeatable power with a relaxed swing
- Power felt controllable rather than overwhelming
- Softer, more dampened, better-pocketing feel than the v4
- Maneuverable and quick to handle at net and baseline
- Generous sweet spot suited to intermediate players
Cons
- Still feels firm/stiff enough to bother wrist and elbow for some players
- One playtester struggled to generate spin with it
- Open grommets cause string movement and faster tension loss
- Advanced players may find it too light for maximum finishing power
- Not ideal for players who lean heavily on slice/finesse at net

be hard pressed to recommend this racquet to anyone other than the flattest of hitters

the power is actually pretty manageable. It gives shots a boost, but doesn't go overboard which helps regulate distance and directional control

could find it a little unforgiving
— Jonas Eriksson, Tennisnerd, Web
The grommets are quite open, resulting in a lot of string movement and faster tension loss
