What players say

Liked 3 sources

Reviewers and buyers describe the Ultra 100L v5 as an easy-power, arm-friendly frame that intermediate and recreational players can swing fast without feeling harsh on the arm. The main tradeoff people note is that it gives up stability against heavy pace compared to the standard-weight Ultra 100 v5, so it suits rallying and net play more than driving through big hitters.

Best for

Rising intermediate players
Players managing arm/shoulder issues
Doubles and net-forward play
Players wanting easy racquet-head speed

Pros

Comfortable on the arm and shoulder, even for players with joint concerns
Easy maneuverability makes it simple to get the racquet to the target
Generates power on serves and groundstrokes without a big swing
Feels crisp and responsive at net

Cons

Loses stability and gives more than heavier siblings against big pace or first serves
Less plow-through on stretched or defensive shots
Not aimed at advanced/full-swing players who want more control-oriented feel

Voices

I can serve down the T and in corners with easy power. Groundstrokes are easy power and the Ultra has a soft touch that is very comfortable on my elbow and shoulder.
