What players say
Little data 2 sources
Almost all published Wilson Ultra v5 coverage (YouTube, Tennisnerd, Tennis.com, Tennis Express) is about the standard 11.2oz Ultra 100 v5 or the 100L v5, not this 9.2oz unstrung 100UL v5, so there is very little independent player feedback on this exact frame. The only verified player comment found is a single 5-star buyer review; a retailer buying guide adds some general context but is not first-hand play feedback.
Best for
- Juniors moving up to a full-size frame
- Beginners wanting easy power and spin
- Players managing arm/elbow sensitivity
- Players who prioritize maneuverability over stability
Pros
- Very light and easy to swing with low fatigue, per buying-guide analysis
- Described as arm-friendly and comfortable
- 16x19 pattern and FORTYFIVE layup give easy access to spin
- One verified buyer specifically praised its spin upgrade for a junior transitioning to a full frame
Cons
- Buying-guide analysis says it has little stability against hard-hit balls and lacks plow-through feel versus heavier Ultra models
- Same source says intermediate/advanced players will outgrow it quickly and it is less suited to club match play
- Essentially no video reviews, forum threads, or Reddit discussion specific to this exact UL variant were found as of this research

Ultimate setup for Juniors switching to a full frame. My daughter loves the upgraded spin potential in the V5.
