Babolat RPM Blast 15L/1.35 String
Line: RPM Blast
$22.00
Rafael Nadal's string of choice is the thickest and most durable version of RPM Blast. This co-poly string is also very, very spin friendly. The slick surface of RPM Blast allows the main strings to slide out of alignment, grab the ball and then snap back to add spin to the shot. While all co-poly monofilaments do this to some extent, our lab tests confirm that RPM Blast is exceptional in this regard. Though RPM Blast offers a slightly softer feel than traditional polyesters, it is by no means the softest co-poly available. It is an ideal choice for big hitters with heavier rackets seeking maximum control, durability, and spin. (And it seems to be working quite well for Rafa!)

Where to buy
What players say
Players who buy the 15L/1.35 gauge of RPM Blast do so for durability and control, not extra spin or feel. Reviewers confirm it holds tension and spin grab well over many sets, but several say it plays stiff and needs a heavier racquet and real swing speed to come alive.
Best for
- Big hitters with fast racquet speed
- Players who break thinner polys
- Heavier or head-light racquets
- Intermediate to advanced players
Pros
- Holds tension and spin grab well through many sets
- Strong control and spin even at the thickest gauge
- Durable enough to be Nadal's chosen gauge
- Responds well to heavy, high-swing-speed shots
Cons
- Not recommended for beginners
- Feels stiff or dead without enough racquet weight or swing speed behind it
- One buyer found it muted the pop/ping of a new frame at the same tension used before
- Less spin and feel than the thinner 16/17 gauges of the same string

100 percent pure spin. I can see why Nadal uses this it. Helps a lot with spin and is really durable.

It has great control and spin. Very good for a head light racquet. Durable.

These strings at 60lbs are absolutely great to play with; the ball can be directed in any direction with ease.

It's a meaty string on an 8 pts HL racquet... you're going to need more help from the weight of the head of the racquet to tame this string.

My newly strung racquet feels dead. No ping sound, no pop, nothing.
