Babolat RPM Blast 17/1.25 String
Line: RPM Blast
$22.00
This firm and durable string is perfect for big hitters looking to load the ball with pace and spin. With its slick surface, RPM Blast enables the strings to snap back with vicious force, resulting in extra RPMs (think heavy ball). It also seems to be working quite well for Rafa! Did we mention the spin?

What players say
Reviewers and TW playtesters agree RPM Blast 17 is a spin-focused co-poly that bites the ball well and holds up for 10-12 hours, but it is firm and underpowered for slower or shorter strokes. Several players report it is stiff enough to cause arm or shoulder discomfort, especially if strung above the mid-50s.
Best for
- Advanced baseliners with full topspin strokes
- Open-pattern, spin-friendly racquets
- Players who already string low tension
Pros
- excellent spin and bite from the octagonal/gear-shaped profile
- holds control and shape well on fast, long swings
- better tension/durability than many co-polys (10-12 hours of solid play)
- comfortable for a firm poly if tensioned low
Cons
- low power, needs a full stroke to get anything out of it
- stiff; several players report arm, shoulder, or elbow discomfort
- control is good but a notch below top-tier control polys like Luxilon 4G
- not suited to shorter or slower swing styles

After playing for 2 hours with this string both shoulders hurt as well as my chest muscles.

Very stiff string. Do not use if you have any elbow issues.

Very grippy on the ball and give great topspin without me having to put much force.

Response was crisp and firm, but with just the right amount of feel and lift off the stringbed.

In terms of control, it's solid but not laser-precise. I would put it a notch below strings like Luxilon 4G or Solinco Confidential.
