Babolat RPM Blast 17/1.25 String Reel - 660'
Line: RPM Blast
$299.00
Popular at the highest levels of tennis, this is a staff favorite for spin. The slick surface of RPM Blast allows the main strings to slide out of alignment, grab the ball and then snap back to add extra RPMs to your shot. While all co-poly monofilaments do this to some extent, our lab tests confirm that RPM Blast is exceptional in this regard. Though RPM Blast offers a slightly softer feel than traditional polyesters, it is by no means the softest co-poly available. It is an ideal choice for big hitters with heavier rackets seeking maximum control, durability, and spin. (And it seems to be working quite well for Rafa!)

What players say
Reviewers treat RPM Blast 17 as the same co-poly material sold in sets, prized for spin and control more than comfort. Advanced players with fast, full swings report heavy topspin and precise directional control, while slower or shorter swingers and arm-sensitive players find it too firm and underpowered.
Best for
- Advanced players with full, fast swings
- Aggressive baseliners chasing heavy topspin
- Players who restring often and want durability
Pros
- Exceptional spin from the string's grabby, gear-shaped profile
- Precise control; reviewers trusted where the ball would land
- Holds tension and stays playable for 8-10+ hours
- Firm but surprisingly comfortable for a polyester, per some reviewers
Cons
- Stiff and firm; several reviewers flag it as unsuitable for arm-sensitive players
- Low power means slower or shorter swings struggle to access benefits
- Feel described by one reviewer as muted/dampened rather than crisp
- Noticeable tension loss and snapback drop-off after extended play

Spin is primarily a function of a player's technique and racquet head speed.

Worth the hype if you string often and play the kind of game it was made for.
