What players say
Players describe RPM Blast 18 (1.20mm) as a softer, livelier version of the standard gauge with strong bite, spin, and feel from the baseline and on serve. The main trade-off reviewers flag is durability: the thin gauge tends to go flat or break sooner than 16/17 gauge, and it feels less stable and jumpy at net.
Best for
- Baseline players wanting spin and feel
- Players with moderate to fast racquet speed
- Servers wanting extra bite
- Players who restring often and prioritize feel over longevity
Pros
- strong spin and bite described by multiple reviewers
- softer, livelier feel than thicker RPM Blast gauges
- good power and control combination from the baseline and on serve
- works well in hybrid setups with natural gut, per reviewers
Cons
- durability is the main complaint, with tension loss or breakage often reported well before 20 hours
- feels jumpy and less stable at net compared to thicker gauges
- loses some touch and sharpness on net/volley shots due to thinness

I can produce high RPM topspin, and nice slices with back and side spin.
