Live Wire Technology exposes the polymeric materials in the string to "an advanced, super high energy, Gamma irradiation process. This process energizes the molecules and accelerates the cross linkage (bonding) between the molecules by more than 25% to create Live Wire monofibers. This increased cross linkage provides greater dynamic resiliency and greater elasticity, compared to other synthetic materials." Live Wire 17 XP offers "Maximum power & control, superior durability and a crisp, solid feel in a thinner gauge."

What players say
Only two customer reviews turn up for this exact 17-gauge Gamma multifilament, both on Tennis Warehouse. One longtime user praises it for arm comfort and added depth with reduced spin bite, while the other found the mains moved too much after the first session and questioned the value against cheaper synthetic gut.
Best for
- Players seeking elbow or arm relief from a multifilament
- Players wanting easy depth without extra swing effort
- Not ideal for players relying on snap-back spin
Pros
- Called "A very comfortable string!" by one reviewer, who reported noticeably less soreness after switching to it for elbow relief
- Adds depth to shots without requiring much extra effort, per the same reviewer
- Still grips the ball reasonably well on contact despite its soft, "gummier" multifilament feel
Cons
- One reviewer reported the mains moved after the first session and did not fully reset, causing balls to fly long until a technique adjustment
- Reduced spin from snap-back because of the soft construction, per one reviewer
- A reviewer questioned the value, suggesting a synthetic gut at half the price might perform similarly
- Only two known customer reviews exist for this exact 17-gauge model, so the sample is very small

A decent string, but a synthetic gut at half the price may match the performance.
