Gosen's traditional synthetic gut with good all around performance. Consistent playing string for all seasons and any weather conditions. This is the same string as standard OG Sheep Micro 17 gauge but without the name printed on the actual string. A great value! Compared to OG Micro Super, this string has a thinner center core. The result is a slightly softer and more powerful response than OG Micro Super.

What players say

Liked 2 sources

Tennis Warehouse's editorial playtest and customer reviews on the 660' reel agree that this is a comfortable, budget-friendly synthetic gut with solid power and control. Spin and durability are the weak points, especially for players who hit with a lot of poly-style bite or heavy pace.

Best for

Budget-minded players and home stringers
Arm or elbow comfort
Hybrid stringbeds as a cross with poly
Players who don't need poly-level spin

Pros

Comfortable and easy on the arm, rated high by both playtesters and several customers
Good value for a 660' reel, with customers calling it priced right
Predictable, controlled response at higher tensions
Holds up well in hybrid setups as a cross string

Cons

Durability lags behind poly and some multifilaments for hard hitters; one customer broke strings every 2-5 hours
Spin generation is decent but not comparable to poly, and drops off as the string saws out of place after 8-10 hours
String movement/snapback score is the weakest metric (59/100) in the Tennis Warehouse playtest
Some report losing spin when used as a cross in an otherwise full poly bed
