Gosen OG Sheep Micro Super 16L/1.25 String White
Line: OG Sheep Micro Super
$5.49
For those seeking a compromise of durability with a soft feel, OG Sheep Micro Super is a great option. Gosen's most popular synthetic gut offers a good balance of resiliency and feel and works well with all-court players. Compared to OG Micro, this string has a thicker center core along with a more durable coating. The result is a slightly firmer feel and higher durability than OG Micro.

What players say
Player feedback on this synthetic gut is split. Several praise its soft feel, pop, and low price when freshly strung, but a recurring complaint is that it loses tension and playability within one to two weeks, far sooner than the standard OG Sheep Micro. Reviewer opinions on durability and feel range from best synthetic they've used to worse than the original in every way.
Best for
- Budget-conscious players who restring often
- Hybrid cross with a polyester main
- Players who like a soft, arm-friendly feel
- All-court players who don't need long durability
Pros
- Good power and pop when fresh, per multiple reviewers
- Soft, comfortable feel and pleasant sound off the stringbed
- Low price relative to performance
- Works well as a cross string paired with polyester mains
Cons
- Several reviewers report it goes dead or loses tension within one to two weeks
- One longtime user of the original OG Sheep Micro felt this Super version had less feel and control
- Outer coating fades after a few hours of play
- Durability and feel reports vary widely between players
