What players say

The Gosen OG-Sheep Micro 17 is a budget synthetic gut that Tennis Warehouse's playtest and retailer customer reviews rate well for comfort and value, with moderate power and control. Spin and durability trail poly strings, and a few hard hitters report it breaking or going dead faster than they'd like.

Best for

Budget-conscious players and home stringers
Arm, elbow, or shoulder comfort
Hybrid stringbeds as a main or cross
Doubles and recreational players

Pros

Comfortable, crisp-but-not-harsh feel that testers and buyers rate highly for the price
Predictable, control-leaning response from the solid core
Enough spin for most recreational shot-making, even if below poly levels
Arm-friendly; several reviewers specifically bought it for elbow or shoulder issues

Cons

Durability is inconsistent: some get weeks of play, others report breaks within 5-13 games or hours under hard hitting
Not enough spin or durability for advanced players used to polyester
String movement/notching increases after 8-10 hours of play, per one Tennis Warehouse tester
One reviewer found a loss of spin when paired as a cross with a soft poly main
