What players say

Liked 4 sources

Ultra Cable is a shaped co-polyester built around spin, and reviewers consistently say it delivers on that: Tennis Warehouse's lab testers and retailer customers both rate spin and control as the standout traits. Power is low and some players find the feel stiff or harsh, and tension loss shows up often enough in customer reviews to be a real concern rather than an isolated complaint. It suits advanced players with long, fast swings more than beginners or compact-stroke players.

Best for

Advanced players with full, fast swings
Players chasing extra spin and bite
Control-first baseliners
Big hitters who string low tension

Pros

Strong, consistently praised spin from the square profile and sharp edges
Good control, described as precise with few surprises off the strings
Holds up well for some players, with durability scored 90/100 by Tennis Warehouse testers
Comfortable for several reviewers when strung at the low end of the tension range

Cons

Low power (54/100 in Tennis Warehouse testing), not suited to players who need the string to add pace
Tension loss is a recurring complaint, with some reviewers reporting it fades within a few weeks or even after one session
Feel is firm to harsh for some players, with a few reporting arm discomfort
Not recommended for beginners or players with compact strokes
